GI Fellows’ Conference
7:00-8:00 am, Endoscopy Lab Conference Room, University Hospital
Attended by Gastroenterology fellows and faculty and run by the GI fellows, this weekly conference series rotates each session and includes a monthly Complications (Morbidity & Mortality) review, a monthly Pancreatobiliary conference for review of ERCP and EUS cases, a monthly in-depth Topic Review, and a monthly Journal Club for up-to-date review of the current Gastroenterology and Hepatology literature.  In addition, multiple Nutrition-focused conferences are held throughout the year.

Pathology Conference
1:00-2:00 pm, Pathology Department, University Hospital
Held jointly under the guidance of dedicated Pathology faculty specializing in gastrointestinal disease, this weekly conferences provides for a thorough survey of GI and liver pathology, from the basics of organ recognition to the pathologic diagnosis and staging of a large variety of disease states.

Core Curriculum Conference
2:00-3:00 pm, Room 444B, UT Health Science Center
This is an all-city weekly conference, attended by the faculty and fellows of the UT Health Science Center GI program, the GI training programs at Brooke Army Medical Center and Wilford Hall Medical Center, and GI colleagues from the San Antonio private practice community.  Hourly lectures cover a gamut of topics ranging from state-of-the-art reviews of disease management, updates on emerging therapies, and basic science reviews of key topics in gastrointestinal and liver physiology.  Nationally prominent experts are frequent guest presenters.

Case Presentation Conference
3:00-4:30 pm, Room 444B, UT Health Science Center
A continuation of our all-city afternoon conference series, this conference provides a forum for discussion of the optimal medical, endoscopic, and surgical management of patients with a wide variety of gastrointestinal and hepatic disorders.  Fellows from all three training programs routinely prepare and present interesting cases at this conference after receiving input from supervising faculty.  In the course of case presentation and discussion, fellows receive instruction in the optimal use of invasive and noninvasive testing in the clinical situation of interest, critical interpretation of study results, and preferred treatment algorithms.
