Our Mission

Our vision is to establish the Division of Clinical Epidemiology as a top-tier program recognized for excellence in education and research to optimize health and function across the lifespan for all people.
  • To conduct interdisciplinary clinical, translational and health services research focused on reducing morbidity, mortality, and disability caused by major health conditions such as diabetes, obesity, depression, cardiovascular disease, and aging.
  • To build on our existing strengths in community-based longitudinal cohort studies, genetic epidemiology, clinical trials, and health promotion, including lifestyle interventions.
  • To be the prime source for outstanding education and consultation in the science and methods of the discipline of clinical epidemiology, the basic science for health-care decision-making.
